Body scrubs come in all scents -- at all price points. Instead, roll up your sleeves and concoct your own blend. This recipe comes from womenshealthmag.com.
Ingredients:
2 tsp. olive oil
2 tsp. sweet almond oil
1/2 cup white cane sugar
1 to 3 drops lavender essential oil
Whisk together the olive oil, sweet almond oil, sugar and essential oil. Pour it into a container with an airtight lid.
A few times a week, use the scrub to exfoliate your skin, paying special attention to elbows, knees and feet. Scrub well and rinse.
Variations:
• For a coarser scrub, substitute kosher salt for the sugar.
• Change the scent with different essential oils.
• For an invigorating blend, omit the lavender, decrease the sugar to 1/4 cup, and add a 1/4 cup unused, organic, finely ground coffee.
