What She Loved (And Didn't Love So Much)
We checked in with Summers weeks after Friedlander's closet rehab to see how she (and her closet) were doing.
"First of all, (working with Friedlander) was a ton of fun and I don't necessarily think of dressing as fun, which was probably part of my problem," Summers says. "I definitely learned to appreciate the value of accessories. Having the right one made a huge difference in how things looked and got pulled together." She was also impressed by Friedlander's emphasis on slenderizing, tonal dressing. The outfit she created -- a long, cream cardigan coordinated with Summers' cream bootcut corduroys -- "was something I would have never put together in a million years. I always went for dark sweaters with those pants. It was my favorite look: very me, and definitely something I would wear to my office or out with my friends."
What wasn't so Summers? Well, despite the agreement of the entire HealthyLife photo shoot team that she looked great in the waist-cinching belts Friedlander used to style her ensembles, Summers found them hard to wear on a day-to-day basis."They look amazing in photos, but I don't think they are comfortable for sitting at my desk all day."
